Your wedding video tells the story of your love as a couple, but that’s not the only story that unfolds on your wedding day…
When I was trying to decide what to call my wedding videography business, I decided to go with Wedding Stories by Hannah Quinn because my videos tell the story of your love.
They’re not just a start to finish, chronological look at what happened during your amazing wedding day. They showcase who you are as a couple, what brought you to this moment, and what you hope your married life will look like.
But the love you have for your spouse isn’t the only story in your wedding day…
The love you have for your children
Is there anything cuter than seeing a couple’s little one toddle down the aisle as a page boy/flower girl?
One of the best things about getting a wedding video filmed is that you’ll be able to show it to your kids when they’re older… especially if they do something mega embarrassing, that’s cracking ‘first time meeting the boyfriend/girlfriend’ material.
But it’s amazing for them to see themselves being part of your wedding day, especially if they were too little to remember it properly first time around.
The love you have as a family can be a totally different story to the love you have as a couple. I know loads of people who say they realised they loved their partner even more after seeing them as a mum/dad!
I ensure that story is told as well as any other on your wedding day.
The love you share with your family
Loads of brides and grooms in their speeches thank their parents for making them who they are today.
The love a parent has for their child, and child for their parent, can be such an incredibly strong bond.
And it’s so obvious to see at so many points of the wedding day. From your mum carefully helping to button your wedding dress on, to your dad looking on adoringly as you share your first dance with your new spouse.
I know first hand how important it is to feature your family members in your wedding video like this. To take a slightly somber note, my dad was extremely ill in the summer of 2021, and my sister and her now husband decided to postpone their wedding – because they didn’t want to get married if he couldn’t be there, enjoying the day alongside them.
If they’re an important part of your story (which don’t worry, I’m aware this isn’t the case for everyone) then that’ll get woven into the video.
The story of your friendships
Friendships are so important – some couples see them as their chosen family, who’ve been with them through the thick and thin, and will always be a part of your life.
It’s often clearest during the speeches. Yes sometimes they just read you for filth (as is a best friends’ duty) but usually you can also see and hear how much they love and value you.
But it’s also so obvious in the candid moments as well: laughing together over a Prosecco while getting ready; them getting a bit teary as you say ‘I do’.
Also, I’d be a pretty crap wedding videographer if I didn’t film all your ridiculous dancing with them in the evening as well…
Got a different story you’d like including in your wedding day? My wedding day packages are a consultative process, and I absolutely do take requests! Let me know if there’s a part of your day, or a person, you really want featured in your wedding day, and I’ll make it happen.
“We absolutely love our wedding video. Hannah captured lots of little details, even things we didn’t see ourselves. We’re blown away.” Filming a wedding is an absolute honour, so I was thrilled when the bride and groom, Ed and Hannah Greasley, asked me to capture their special day. I see my wedding videographer role as
