Here are a few answers to some of the most frequently asked questions you might have about wedding videography and my services.
If you don’t see what you’re looking for here or you need more info, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
I can’t do your wedding photography, unfortunately. However, I do work closely with any other photography professionals that are shooting your nuptials. This includes connecting with them beforehand to ensure we won’t be treading on each other’s toes or getting in each other’s frame on the day.
It’s always fun to chat with and work alongside fellow professionals!
It’s totally OK if you’re sure what you want from your wedding video. This is something we can chat about beforehand. We can explore different ideas, moods, and approaches to find out what you prefer. We might want to nail down a few key moments you definitely want to capture on film. Even if you’re not sure what you’re after at the start, chatting it through can often generate some ideas and you’ll find that you do have a few preferences.
There will also be an opportunity to make tweaks to the film after it’s been produced. As part of my packages, you’ll have the chance to view a first draft of your final film and return any feedback.
I’m a firm believer that your wedding should be about what you and your partner want. Not everyone needs or wants a videographer to film their celebration of marriage. Personally, I think having a little film to watch back and relive the day is a wonderful thing to have but then, I am HUGELY biased!
If you’re not sure whether having a wedding video is for you, you are still very welcome to get in touch with me to explore the idea. I’m about as far from a pushy salesperson as they come, and sometimes discussing your ideas with a professional can help you make up your mind whether a certain service is for you or not.
Absolutely. There’s plenty of adaptations that can be made when filming; from including subtitles in the final cut, to ensuring camera angles capture any signing taking place, to arranging for audio description.
In terms of any access needs you might have, we can discuss everything prior to the event and ensure I’m taking every step to accommodate your needs.
I certainly am! I also happen to be a member of this community, myself. My videography approach is totally open and inclusive – I love capturing love stories that are queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, trans, intersex, gender non-conforming, polyamorous, or any other identity that you or your partner(s) may have.
Please let me know up top if there’s anything I need to know about you or your partner(s), such as pronouns. Equally, there’s never any pressure to share elements of your identity or relationship that you’d rather keep to yourselves. I would invite you to share as much or as little with me as makes you feel comfortable.
Once you receive your final film, it’s yours to do with as you wish. You can share it with whoever you like, however you like. There’s no pressure to tag me but it’s always a thrill to see how happy folks are with their finished film!
Again, this may depend on your choice of package. However, a ballpark estimate would be within 3-4 weeks of your wedding celebration.
This very much depends on your choice of packages. For the full wedding day shoot, the final film will be 15 minutes. For the half-day or evening celebration, the film will be 10 minutes. For the elopement and love story packages, the length of the film is bespoke to you and will depend on what you want.
At the point when you decide to book my services, I’ll ask you to confirm the date(s) of your wedding celebration and to submit a £500 deposit. You don’t need to have decided exactly which package you’d like; however, you will need to know the dates so that I can book the day clear in my diary. The balance needs to be paid no later than 21 days before the wedding.
I’m a wedding videographer but that doesn’t mean you have to be walking down the aisle for us to work together. I also film elopements/intimate weddings, vow renewals, and any non-traditional ceremonies where you’re celebrating your union.
I can travel anywhere in Great Britain to shoot your wedding video. Travel within Staffordshire or a 30-mile radius of Stoke on Trent is included in the price of all my packages – any location beyond that involve an extra cost to cover travel and any accommodation that might be needed. I may be able to travel abroad to film your nuptials, but this would need to be the right call for both of us.
I’m based in Staffordshire, in the city of Stoke-on-Trent.
I film all types of weddings and celebrations of love. This includes vow renewals, elopements, small or micro weddings, and non-traditional ceremonies. I can film in religious spaces (if appropriate/allowed), outdoors, in nature, or anywhere that I could reasonably bring a camera and equipment.
